Belfast International Airport: Plane returns after being hit by lightning

Belfast International Airport
A plane bound for Greece has returned to Belfast International Airport after being struck by lightning.

The flight, operated by Thomson Holidays, landed at the airport at about 15:30 BST on Saturday.

Passengers have been taken off the plane while checks are carried out.
A spokesperson for Belfast International Airport said the pilot has submitted a new flight plan with the aim of resuming the journey as soon as possible.
